Dear ILUGC,
I give up on the Wiki spam issue. The page I am interested in is Find
Your Distro, and I removed all spam on it yesterday evening, only to
fidn that the spam is back this morning again.
This won't do. PLEASE install some captcha and/or disable unauthorized
edits. Something MUST be done immediately!
Thanks.

Hi all,
I saw recently an installation of Ubuntu 7.04 in PC with exisitng
WIN XP in which GRUB installed on the MBR recognised the existing
WIN XP OS and dual booting was going on smoothly.
This was one of the reasons I did not venture to install Linux on
my friends' machines which had WIN XP though they wnated to try
out linux.
My question is, whether the GRUB bootloader of the DEBIAN 4.0 DVD's
supplied with LFY of AUG'07 or the FC7 (JUL 07) does also
recognise WIN XP and dual boot ?
Has any of the list members done it ? If you give me a confident
yes, a minimum of 6 friends are waiting on whose machines I will
install Debian 4.0 over the weekend.
Pl give some leads.
Yes Debian does recognised Win XP. I have done not less than 25 such
installations. I have never faced problem with it.
Raman.P
the LFY of Aug'2007 (Debian 4.0). I have installed on about 8 pc's and 2
laptops having windows pre-installed on them. Just be careful during the
installation process that you do not touch the windows partition.
