Stellarium is more focused for the desktop use. Though it has features of a
fish eye transformation which helps in projection into a planetarium dome
(through a spherical mirror), it does not concentrate on that feature.
Nightshade is primarily focusing on usage in planetariums (big and small).
Chennai's Birla planetarium is still using a mechanical star projector. They
do have a small secondary digital projector, but I don't know what software
they use.
