What it is:
                A screen capture enabling you to capture videos off
your X-Window desktop for illustration or documentation purposes.
Video can be saved in MPEG or AVI files format.

camstudio is also good for windows users. not sure whether they are
available in linux

Ubuntu has istanbul for this application in its repo. Has anyone tried these
on a desktop? The screen went awry and froze when I ran istanbul. Dell
laptop with GMA950 running native driver and Karmic.
