I agree with this in context of such a step would increase awareness
about the guidelines. Adhering to them is another matter and, has
always been a point of contention over the years that I've been on
various lists. There was a corridor discussion at GNUnify (~2 years
back) about the utility of turning the guidelines of mailing lists
into a translation ready piece and then linking to a page with the
guidelines in the various languages. I don't really know if that would
be useful to do.
