Hi,
What your printer can and cannot do is defined in .ppd files, if you can
get the .ppd file for your printer and put it in /usr/share/cups/model,
then reconfigure the printer using this .ppd file and you should get all
the options your printer can support.
Your first stop should be the manufacturer's site, next
linuxprinting.org
