have backed up your smb.conf file. if it is not so u try to back the
configuration file before editing the here onwards.
i couldn't get your problem clearly.i have also tried to configure samba and
had some partial success.
first win2k accepts only encrypted passwords. so uncomment the directive
"encrypt passwords = yes". then there is another directive "security =
user". uncomment this directive also. i tried with the directive
security=user but could not view the shares.so i changed it to
security=share.now i could see the shares in the network neighbourhood.but
the vulnerability is share level access gives the lowest security.then also
when i tried to open the share i get an error message that
" a specified logon session does not exist.it may already have been
terminated."
i have also added the password to smbpasswd file and i have logged on using
the same username and password but the error still persist. if anybody could
solve my problem please help me.
