You upgraded from a _released_ product 10.04 to a _development_
product 10.10 which is in alpha3

How could I solve this problem??
Alpha and Beta versions are meant for testing and flushing out bugs;
which is what you have ended up doing. It may be worthwhile
participating in the Ubuntu development forums and bring this problem
to the developer's attention.
