Hi Steve,
if your off screen window supports UIA and you can get the windows
handle perhaps you can use this function:
<begin code>
int Function IsCheckBoxChecked (object oCheckbox)
var
object oToggleState
oToggleState = oCheckbox.GetTogglePattern()
If oToggleState.toggleState == 1 then
Return True
else
Return False
EndIf
EndFunction
Script CheckState ()
var
object oCheckbox
; ... use UIA functions to get the object here
If IsCheckBoxChecked (oCheckBox) then
; ... do what you want
else
; ... do what you want
EndIf
EndScript
<end code>
Hope this helps
Udo

Hi folks. I want to query if a control is checked or not, and the jaws
function ControlIsChecked() doesn't take any parameters, as the description
says it's only for the current window. So, are there other options? This
control resides in an off screen/open window. THX Steve.

Probably, the graphic is not associated with any accessibility API and you
will just have to look at what the associated graphic is to determine if the
check box is checked or not. You could override the standard function to make
things easier.
