I'll have to try that. But the issue is not only the check marks. What
about the list that JAWS can't read without the JAWS cursor? JAWS should be
able to read a list view without the aid of it's special rooting.

some checkmarks are graphics but are smaller than the graphics has set to
search for. You can go into the config manager for the program then go to
graphics and symbols. Tab down to the minimum sizes and type in a slightly
lower number and test to see if the checkmarks can be seen with the jaws
cursor.

| Hi folks,
| Speaking of checkboxes, it'd be really nice if JAWS could show the
checkboxes when Malwarebytes Anti-Malware finds stuff. I had an issue last
week where I was trying to scan, then my friend (also blind), decided to see

if he could have better luck with it. As a result of him not being able to
see the file that Malwarebytes had found and being able to know if it was
selected for removal or not, he accidentally demolished one of the
accessible games we like to play because some Malware scanners flag its
files as Trojans. And never mind the check boxes on that, I can't even read

it's listings unless the JAWS cursor is selected, and even that does not
give adequate information. Since I know a little of the JAWS scripting
language, what tactic would be best to get JAWS to read all of the controls
and lists correctly without the use of the JAWS cursor? By the way, I have
contacted Malwarebytes corporation on this multiple times, and it looks like

they don't give two dangs about
| it. Any input would be great. And so that you know what I've done so
far, I've already put in to the script two include statements: Include
"HJConst.jsh", and include "HJGlobal.JSH". That has yielded no results.

| Thanks and regards,
| Katherine

|
| Is Jaws recognizing the control as a checkbox?
| If not, You can try to reclassify the control with the window
| reclassification assignment functionality.
|
| You should take a look at this using the jaws homerow functionality to
| see if the name or type of control is being reported. Also try looking
| at the MSAA properties using the f9 and f10 keys. You should find a
| section in the basics of scripting manual which discusses the homerow
| mode and how to use it.
| This topic can be found in the book called Windows program structure.
| There is also a topic on reassigning window classes.
|
| If you are using Jaws 11, the keystrokes for activating homerow mode
| have changed. if you are using Jaws 11, the new key assignment is:
| JawsKey+control+- on the number pad. for earlier versions of jaws, use
| JawsKey+space.

| Hi,
|
| JAWS is not reading the checkbox objects at all. Neither the lable, nor
| the
| state of the checkbox.
| Please help me how that can be achieved.
