Me either!  I followed the thread back where a similar postMessage call was 
suggested.  It works perfectly!  I had previously had a function that 
literally attempted five different ways to close the app and still failed 
occasionally.  I will repeat the call here:
postMessage(ghVCAMain, 0x10, 0, 0) ; 0x10 is WM_Close
