Hi Jackie

Thanks for your message. However, it appears that the control word SearchRank
in the JSD file has nothing to do with the script code. I went to another
script that had not been compiled in JAWS 16 and checked the JSD file and there
were no occurrences of SearchRank. I just re-compiled the script and still no
SearchRank. Then I changed the synopsis for one script and recompiled. Now
there is the control word SearchRank followed by a number in every function in
the JSD file.

The problem is likely that there is some code in the script that will work in
Jaws 16 but not 15. In general, just as a document typed in word 2010, for
example, won't work in word 2003, the same principles will be applicable to
Jaws as well.

Hi

I'm trying to compile a script file that has been worked on in JAWS 16
to a Windows XP machine running JAWS 15. After I copy all the
necessary files to the XP machine I open the JSS file in script
manager. I immediately get an error message that says unknown control
word: SearchRank. IF I hit enter, the file will open in script
manager and can be edited. But when I save and compile the JSS file,
I get the same error message about unknown control word again. And of
course I have no valid JSB file. The control word SearchRank shows up
in the JSD file. I've also seen it in default.jsd in jaws 16, but not
in JAWS 15.

Thanks for your help.
