Hi Jamal I don't know much about Schemes because I don't use them. I also do not use the settings packager because I always copy files manually, for example any jaws custom labelling I have done. However, as far as I know the settings packager does not do any special processing and is merely an import/export tool. If you create a scheme, you will note that there is a file with the scheme name with an .MSF extension and possibly a voice aliases.dat file. These are just placed in the jaws settings folder relative to the windows account. However, as you point out you will need to associate the scheme with the application. I suspect if your friend or colleague had copied the .JCF file for the application itself this would have helped you because under the Options section of the .JCF there is a line which determines which scheme should be switched to. In my test scheme I have just created for Notepad, I have Scheme=Brian I would ask for all the files and copy them manually. I note however that if you have faithfully reproduced the contents of the Readme file emanating from the settings packager, the scheme name is not even present which demonstrates it may not have been correctly exported using this method. When I tried doing this just now, I got: Summary of brian.zip Schemes Scheme: Brian My Scheme. This last line refers to the scheme description. I want to install and try the scheme but am having trouble. I tried opeing the archive with Settings Packager, but no package files are listed to import. Can anyone tell me where the files should be copied? There is a Sounds subfolder with several .wav files. Also, the archive contains the following two files: SynthVoiceAliases.dat and SettingsPackager.spd. Can this installation be done just by copying files to appropriate locations, or is the Import feature of Settings Packager needed because it performs additional processing tasks? There is also a ReadMe.txt file that was created by the Export process, pasted below for reference. It does not include the name of a scheme. If I can figure out how to do a manual install, how can I know what scheme name I would subsequently choose via Configuration Manager?
