I work at the VA and we use Reflection instead of PCOM> Not sure if your
mainframe is a IBM style system or a linux/VMS style system. In most cases,
the JAWS scripting for a mainframe terminal session are highly specialized to
the individual company. Generally you need to look at patterns on the current
screen and attempt to match them with that what you expect to see. At the VA
we are looking at the bottom of the screen for a prompt that indicates we are
in a more form centric screen. If we are then the area around the cursor is
further analyzed and divided into FieldName and FieldValue variables. There are
also a couple of key strokes that are available if the screen is known to be on
a specific form. If you have similar keystrokes that would be a good place to
start looking.

years back, our calendar was designed to only to see 30 days at a time, the
JAWS scripts had no issues revealing what appointments were available, what
day, what month, etc. This calendar was expanded recently, and now you can
see much further out in the month, but JAWS doesn't tell the user, or list
which month the appointment is in now.
The problem with the current script is it doesn't provide enough information
to identify the specific date in this expanded date range. This has been a
real big issue for users not being able to know when and what is available.
With the mainframe we use, it is very difficult to distinguish what key
script or scripts need to be edited, if anyone has any advice or ideas of
where I should start, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
