I had someone lined up to do this work before but I think time wasn't on his
side.
I'm looking for someone to script three applications.
The application was written in C about 15 years ago and it's not currently
possible to recompile it without investing a lot of work.
The problems I have are:
1. In certain parts, tool bar items are not read correctly even with
labelling the graphics. Label the first graphic in the tool bar and jaws reads
every tool bar graphic the same.
2. It isn't very easy to jump between the main parts of the applications.
All three applications are very similar. They use a tree view on the left and
a list view on the right. Sometimes, there's also a list view on the bottom
with tabs just below this.
3. In certain list views, focus jumps to an unknown control when an arrow
is pressed.
4. In what we call query windows, the date and time entry boxes is only
usable using the jaws cursor. It's not at all efficient.
5. In our code entry windows, the tool bar that contains the execute
button isn't visible to the Jaws cursor at all.
6. One of our code entry edit fields supports a type of intellysense. I
would love to be able to read this.
7. We have a combo box at the top left of one of the windows. It's the
single most important control. I'd like a keyboard command to jump to it.
A lot of what I need is actually quite straight forward but I don't want to
hack something together that isn't as efficient as something a professional
script developer could do. These three applications are on production and test
servers. The script developer would need to connect to my test system using a
standard Windows VPN. Unfortunately it isn't possible to give the application
to you as it wouldn't work outside our environment.
The applications are three parts of one core. This core is the back end of our
.net and classic ASP applications. The applications provide us with an
administration layer, an explorer layer for data manipulation and a layer for
development. The development layer is what seems at first glance to be a
treeview with events and libraries and a simple edit box on the right but that
edit box is where we write a lot of the business logic in the application.

hourly rate or a daily rate?
Although this is an application I use for work, I will be paying for these
scripts myself.
