Hi.

Sonar 8.5.3 is the latest accessible version. According to Dancing Dots page
for CakeTalking, Sonar X1 has the same functionality for the most part,
except the redesign of the UI and a few new plugins. Since Sonar 8.5.3 is
out of date, and is not for sale, the only version you can get from the
Cakewalk store is X2; yes, X1 is now out of date. Dancing Dots has a
contract with Cakewalk to allow the sale of previous versions; mainly 8.5.3.
This is the only option I see for you because I wouldn't trust bying it used
on Ebay. Jsonar 8.5.X works with Sonar 8.5.X and earlier. Ignore the music
creator scripts tab of the website because those are out of date. Jsonar
works with Sonar 8.5.3 LE, Studio, and Producer. You can't buy LE anymore,
so the only choices are Studio/Producer.

Subject: [jawsscripts] Questions about Cakewalk Sonar

Hi everyone

I am wanting to obtain software in the Cakewalk Sonar range but I am hitting
some problems regarding compatible software versions and JAWS scripts.

As I understand it, CakeTalk Sonar is available, but it only functions with
Sonar version 8.5 and not the current release which is X1. Sonar 8.5 is
very difficult to obtain here in the UK, and even if I could get it
purchasing the added scripts is probably well out of our price range anyway.

JSonar seems like a good option, but I am confused about which currently
available software packages it functions with. The site does refer to
Cakewalk Music Creator, which may do what we want, but again, obtaining a
supportable version doesn't seem to be easy.

Can anyone please let me know which programs are accessible in this range
which are currently available?

Thank you.

Brian Hartgen
