I really appreciate the separate control of each application's volume level in Vista. But I continually wish I had quick control over the current application without effecting JAWS. I know there is a program on the jaws-users page to do this type of thing, but I had no success with it in Vista. I attempted to write simple JAWS scripts to merge with the default scripts to set the system volume and then readjust the JAWS volume with the built-in functions. Unfortunately, the SetSystemVolume function seems only to set the level of the JAWS voice level within what is set in the System Tray volume mixer for the JAWS application. It has no effect on the system volume level in the volume mixer or the volume level of any other application! Is anyone aware of a Vista compatible application that can set hotkeys to adjust the current application's volume? Or any program that can do this through a command line interface? As far as I know, the volume mixer program, "sndvol", does not accept parameters. In that case, I could manipulate the application's volume from a script using the Run function. Or perhaps someone in this group knows JAWS scripts or functions I am not aware of yet?
