Man your very welcome to be a part of the list|! that's how all of us learn
things up here, hanging around others who are more knowledgeable about
scripting.
And there's nothing at all wrong with that!
I guess I'd just wanted to try and communicate to you however,
which maybe your already aware of,
That Scripting is just like programming. and in my view, as a pretty new
person at doing it, it does take some considerable
time to get one's head around, if that english expression will make sense to
you?
I just mean that in my view, scripting is not nearly as easy to learn as you
might wish? for
example, whilst of course getting decent access to our applications that we
wanna use, is the end goal of many of us, and of why many of us wish to
script,
just to ask onList that someone might be able to help you with getting
access to a whole application such as you are describing, I would think, is
probably an expectation in reality beyond the scope of this list to fulfill.
bringing decently scripted access to an application such as you've
described, requires not one script, but several smaller scripts and
functions, all interactively working together to cover the holes in the
application that need to be covered, and it is no small undertaking.
I don't know if I speak for everyone else here in saying this, and if I'm
out of line I'm sure others will pipe up and speak their minds. But, if
noone has already done any scripting for this app, and from the quiet
response to your question up here I take it noone has,
and if noone has yet wanted to do scripts already for this particular
marriam webster dictionary and thesaurus.
application, and if noone compitent at scripting already has got
any particular need or desire to do it for themselves,
well, then I fear you might find this a larger and more complex task if your
wanting like immediate and decent access to this thing, then you would wish?
I know of course that this is what starts people wanting to script, they buy
something or wanna use an application, that isn't scripted, or that they
can't use. and this is the motivating factor behind most people wanting to
learn. But my own view is, you have to start small, and have your
expectations set pretty low to begin with, and you've reeeally gotta wanna
mastter some stuff, before you'll see a lot of joy in this.
That's just my view. maybe you'd be way better off starting with small
parts of the application that you think you'd like to tackle, like telling
of one screen or one little situation, that you've found that you can't do,
and start working there. But as I say, just to throw out such a general
plea for assistance with a whole application, is probably not what the list
is really going to be able to support.
I hope this english isn't too hard for you to grasp? I'm sorry I don't know
how to tell you easier.
Have you studied yet any of the learning scripting resources. like the
basics of scripting training that comes with jaws itself? have you been
through that to start with?
