Hello, all: Some of u have seen this, some not. Sorry for cross-posting, but... I will be starting Jaws scripting classes on 18 June. I'm thinking times will be 2100-22:30 gmt each Friday for 12 weeks. Sessions will be held using teamTalk (available from www.bearware.dk) & will also be recorded. TT is very accessible right from the get-go. I'll be happy to help u get set up w/that. Anyone enrolling who has an application they'd like scripted should submit their choice w/the enrollment fee, as well as a link where the program can be found. Yours just might be picked as an app to script as a part of the learning process. Cost is $240 if paid in 1 payment or $300 if paid in multiple installments. The password will be emailed to u prior to each session if you've paid. I am allowing no more than 10 students per class, & I've already gotten 5 commitments. So spots are filling up fast! According to the principle of the tithe, I allow 1 student per class who cannot pay but who has the potential to benefit greatly from learning scripting. I have already approved a student for this particular class in that category. If there is enough interest, I will consider holding more scripting classes, as well as classes on customizing Jaws without scripting. I encourage private contact *off list* regarding this, as well as any questions u may have. The class assumes no prior programming knowledge, though a knowledge of how to customize Jaws without scripts is helpful. It takes the student from the very beginnings of the scripting language & guides him/her through scripting an application. The only aspect that will not be dealt with extensively is objects, as that can be a course in & of itself. The student is provided with a written text, recorded lectures, instructor feedback, & answering of questions via email. For those who do not know me well, I have been doing Jaws scripting since 1995 in a vast array of venues, from call centers to standalone applications, such as Band-in-a-Box. I am also a longtime instructor, having first trained physicians & now teaching at the Cisco Institute for the Visually Impaired. I'm certain many have seen my posts to various lists over the years, as I try to be helpful where I can. Again, I encourage private contact regarding this & thank everyone for their gracious attention. -- Change the world--1 deed at a time Jackie McBride www.abletec.serverheaven.net Please join me Saturday, 11/7, on my walk against breast cancer by making a donation at: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/larkspur> __________ View the list's information and change your settings at http://www.freelists.org/list/jawsscripts
