COULDN'T YOU MAYBE JUST USE THE
CopyToClipboard (" ")
function in whatever script you used for the first part of this job?
it doesn't totally clear it, in that it does probably copy a space character
but, it will not speak anywayz.
test it with JawsKey+Windows+X, which speaks contents of clipboard.
