JSFoo is in Chennai this weekend. http://jsfoo.in/chennai2012

JSFoo is India's first JavaScript conference series. Two previous
editions were held in Bangalore and Pune and featured local speakers
covering a range of topics on building apps with JavaScript.

In the last few years JavaScript has emerged as arguably the most
important programming language for the modern era. It's wide-spread
availability in web browsers, where it is also the only language
available, combined with server-side technologies like Node.js makes
it extremely influential.

Node.js was written from the ground-up for modern cloud-hosted
environments where concurrency and scale are key. These features are
often sub-optimally addressed in older languages, since their
libraries were written before concurrency became an important factor
in web apps.

Even on mobile, when developers try to minimize rewriting code when
targeting multiple platforms, JavaScript is the most feasible option.
It is available as a native language for all the major smartphone
platforms: iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

JSFoo is a one day conference on building full-size apps in
JavaScript. We will have some of the country's best JS developers
talking about the challenges of going the full distance with JS, doing
everything in JS itself.

Videos from all editions of JSFoo are available online, but the
sessions are not the same each time. Chennai has all-new sessions. The
previous editions:

Pune: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7B9115EEC87E72C4

(Pune videos are still being processed. About half are online right now.)

Date: 18th February 2012.

Venue: IIT Madras Research Park
Kanagam Rd, Tharamani, Chennai, Tamil Nadu
