If you’re into astronomy, or have a romantic streak, you might be
interested in Lunar Clock, which adds a moon phase indicator to the
panel.
 To install it,

$ sudo apt-get install glunarclock.

Once it’s installed, right-click a blank spot on the panel where you
want the applet to appear, select Add to panel, and then select 'Lunar
Clock' from the list.Before using it, you must tell it where you are
on the Earth so it’s accurate.

 To do this, right-click its icon, click Preferences, and then the
Location tab. You’ll need your latitude and longitude figures—these
can be obtained by typing the name of your town/city into
http://www.geonames.org.
