Job Role: Open Source Web Specialist - Senior Software Engineer
Description: We are looking for 3 - 5 years experienced,
self-motivated hardcore web developer with passion for developing
client focused products.
We hope you're:
-- A Geek. You're comfortable hopping up and down the stack, from
configuring Apache to writing CSS. Your specialties are undoubtedly
PHP and MySql. Given a new problem to solve, you can code fast and
think even faster. Ideally, you've built a site that has scaled to
millions of users, a team of engineers, and several servers.
-- A fit for our culture. You are mission-oriented, and want to have a
lot of impact. You don't need constant oversight, but you communicate
often and openly anyway. We are collaborative, creative,
smart-working, customer-focused, and frugal.
Strong Command of
LAMP environment (Linux, Apache, MySql, PHP)
Server Side Scripting like PHP. Python & Ruby on Rails is an added advantage
Templating Engines such as Smarty
Ajax, Java Script and Jquery
Client Side Scripting such as HTML/XHTML, CSS ,XML, DOM Model
Highly Desirable
Strong knowledge of object oriented programming / modular programming
Solid knowledge in database schema design principles with demonstrated
aptitude to apply best practices for scalable designs
Software Development lifecycle from requirements gathering and functional
specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery
Knowledge of best practices for cross-platform, cross-browser compatibility
