Inspired by the report of Floyd and Clarice, I checked out the water tower
at 35th and V, and sure enough, there was a Peregrine perched on the SW side
this morning. I wonder if there is any research data as to whether
Peregrines habitually prefer a south or southwest oriented tower perch?
Maybe it's a morning sunning thing (though no sun today).
The belly barring on this bird was low and faint, typical of the "western
internal" race (Sibley).
