Greetings All:
A few years back there was a bit of a fuss on another listserv
(texbirds) about too much chatter and pointless stuff - a particular
target was my monthly birding summary. My response to the critics
then would be the same as my response to folk who worry about
leasbirds chatter now: there is a button towards the right side of
your keyboard and nobody's feelings will get hurt if you use it:) I
am not trying to be snarky; just pointing out that the delete key is a
quick way to weed out a burgeoning inbox - I use it a fair amount
myself.
I am actually encouraged by the positivity and inclusiveness that we
are showing towards new and old members of our community and the way
that this is reflected on the listserv.
My only suggestion would be that folk reportng new sightings start new
threads as it is difficult, as a sightings compiler, to dig new stuff
out of a really long thread.
Aside from that, as the listserv manager, I happily echo the comments
of others who have posted on the matter and say carry on!
I, for one, can't wait to see the next nifty photograph or post ...
and the upbeat and encouraging responses.
