Since I'm new to the list, I wanted to submit my birds for April (so
far). I'd seen Anthony's list in the latest newsletter. He'd
mentioned Inca Doves and possibly doing a count in the future, so I
included them below. I participated in Project Feeder Watch this year
after a 10-year absence, and we've had 1-3 Inca's during the colder
months. We have one still hanging around.
I retired this past August and joined eBird at the beginning of April for
the first time, plus iNaturalist a couple of weeks ago. I'm really
enjoying seeing all the birds and trying to figure out what they are. I'd
still call myself a beginning birder.
New ids for me this month were - Osprey, Black-necked Stilt, Hermit
Thrush, Spotted Sandpiper, and White-crowned Sparrow. I've added a photo
and an audio of the osprey, which actually helped me identify what it was.
It was always around dusk when we saw it on this same limb.
Looking forward to birding with some of you in the future when
circumstances allow!
Nancy
