Fellow Birders,
First, I want to thank those of you who have stepped in and assisted SPTXMN
with park cleanups this past year.
Your help has been greatly appreciated.
I’m excited to share that we finally got the details for our latest clean up
project put together with the folks at Keep Lubbock Beautiful. It has been
months in the making.
Date: 11-20-21
Time: 10 am -1pm
Where: avenue C and 46th St.
Parking: 4808 Ave C
Details: this is a playa that has become a dumping ground for large items such
as furniture, mattresses, and tires as well as the usual wind blown and storm
drainage items.
Why it matters: this is an area that birds
and wildlife use. Many of us “bird” this area and and would like to see it
cleaned up. This also allows us to provide a great service to the community.
Please bring any friends or relatives who might be interested in helping.
As usual, come and go as you can if you can’t do the entire 3 hours.
The city will
provide trash bags, safety vests, grabbers and a roll off dumpster. We also
have a couple trailers we will use to haul off the tires.
