Considering the city's plan to flood Yellowhouse Canyon east of the loop to
form a big lake in 20 years, we should explore that whole area downstream from
Dunbar while we can.
Btw, turning the East of Hell's Gate area into a park has been thought about
for years and with the lake development there may be development of the canyon
inside the loop as well.
There is an iNaturalist project for that area but it is voluntary and does not
automatically collect observations from the fam to the Loop.

More motivation to spend more time downstream of Lake Six. Seeing a beaver
would be a big bonus!

I had a beaver down stream lake 6. I followed it until under the loop. It
came out of the water at the second water crossing and at the loop to keep
going downstream. It’s my first alive one I have seen in Lubbock! I got
several photos that I will post in the next few days.
I also had a pyrrhuloxia surprisingly at the second water crossing.
Everything else was expected but I always love hearing and seeing
yellow-billed cuckoos!
