Greetings All: This morning, Anthony Hewetson, Jan Jannett, Colleen Martin, Paula Richardson, Gerardo Sandoval, Tess Trost, and Janice Whittington visited Clapp Park for two hours. During that time we noted 23 species of birds: 15 Mallards 1 Cattle Egret 1 Green Heron 1 Yellow-crowned Night Heron 44 Mississippi Kites 29 Rock Pigeons 68 Eurasian Collared Doves 10 White-winged Doves 3 Black-chinned Hummingbirds 1 Olive-sided Flycatcher 1 Western Kingbird 1 Bell's Vireo 2 Blue Jays 2 Barn Swallows 7 American Robins 6 Northern Mockingbirds 1 Northern Waterthrush 2 Yellow Warblers 2 Wilson's Warblers 3 Northern Cardinals 6 Red-winged Blackbirds 57 Great-tailed Grackles 17 House Finches We also saw 1 Cabbage White, 2 Dainty Sulphurs, 3 Monarchs, 1 Queen, 1 Common Buckeye, 1 Painted Lady, and 1 American Lady - a bit slow for butterflies.
