Hi All,
Headed out to the Bison playa after I saw Justin's email. Did not find the
White-rumped Sandpiper or Long-billed Curlew (darn!) but did see the Hudsonian
Godwit and Whimbrels (thanks to Anthony for the heads up to look for the
Whimbrels). Thought there may have been a Pectoral Sandpiper out there, but
wasn't certain. The playa water level seems to be holding up nicely. Viewing
conditions were not ideal between the wind and distance to the far shore.

me for a split second, but distance made identification difficult.

2 Whimbrel -- In the grass. Long, decurved bill, but not long enough for a
Curlew. Dark eyeline. Large compared to the other shorebirds.
1 Hudsonian Godwit -- Black spot at rear of body, white underneath the tail,
brownish-gray back (one color, not mottled), two toned straight bill (black and
pink). Thought I saw some barring behind the legs. Appeared to be transitioning
into breeding plumage.
