I found two burrowing owls right behind the fireworks stands on East 50th, (the
ones set up next to the funky vans) right before you get to the 4-way stop at
Buffalo Springs. The owls seemed to have a nest out in the field. This photo
was taken on May 30, on my way back home to Ransom Canyon after our group met
out at Lubbock Lake Landmark. I tried to post to the group that afternoon, but
I don’t think it ever showed up. I see owls and hawks often during my commute
back and forth into town, but I’ve been out of town for the past month and just
got back yesterday. Not sure if the owls are still out there.

My niece is coming into town and is wanting to see burrowing owls. Any
suggestions of a couple of places to see them? I’ve only been out a few times
in the past several months. So i haven’t seen them. Thanks in advance!
