I went to Clapp yesterday afternoon. Was rather quiet.
Kestrel
12 robins
11 cedar waxwings
2 coopers
hawks
1 immature red tailed hawk
1 mockingbird
4 blue jays
3 American gold finches
12 house finches
6 dark eyed juncos
1 Townsend’s solitaire
15 green wing teal
19 mallards
1 in identified shore bird out on the shallow part of the southern playa.
Light was not good and I couldn’t get a better view.
Both playas have lost water and there were no waterfowl in the norther playa.
Just one turtle summing itself.
Saw only 2 small groups
Of cedar waxwings at my place. 1 group
Of 7 and another of 11.
3-4-21
Large flicks of sandhill cranes flying overhead again. This makes 3 days in a
row. Today they were flying very low and I could hear them inside with music
on. Am guessing the crowd cover encouraged that.
I walked through Maxi about 4 pm. 1 flock of cedar waxwings drinking from the
lake.
Mostly grackles, a few white winged doves, domestic doves, 1 shoveled, mallard
ducks, 11 Canada/cackling geese on shore, 1 ring- billed gull.
