Was able to make the trip to Palo Duro to look for the Golden-crowned Sparrow
this afternoon. Only had time to sit at the blind by the Trading Post (I never
knew there was a blind there), but there was a nice variety and the sparrow was
still there :)

Comments: Rat eating seed on the ground. Everything flushed and disappeared
about 4:25pm. Birds were starting to come back around 4:45pm.

1 Mourning Dove -- Heard
2 Golden-fronted Woodpecker -- Male. Orange on nape, red cap, yellow by bill.
Gorgeous. Ladder backed. Female later at the large thistle feeder with
beautiful gold on the back of her head. Flew off of feeder with something white
in her bill.
1 Black-crested Titmouse
2 Brown Thrasher -- Possibly 3
18 White-crowned Sparrow -- A few individuals with brown head stripes and
splotchy looking plumage.
1 Golden-crowned Sparrow -- Transitioning into or in breeding plumage.
Continuing bird at wildlife blind.
4 White-throated Sparrow -- A female flew hard in to (hit) the blind next to me
(ended up 2-3 ft from where she hit) struggled then rested for 15-20 min before
disappearing. Pretty sure I saw her foraging in the brush closest to where she
recuperated shortly after I noticed she was gone.

6 Pine Siskin -- 2 with beautifully bright yellow on their wings.
