Hello Anthony, et al, I only had my phone so these are the only photos i
took. I did not think that they were lesser yellowlegs because i didn't
see "bright" yellow legs and the bills on these birds appeared longer,
darker and "thicker" than what i would associate with yellow legs. Also
one of the bills seemed to have a droop plus one of them had a slight
rufous ear patch.
I didn't think they were dowitchers because the bills seemed, relatively
speaking, too short.
I was able to approach them to within about 20 feet or so but i didn't
attempt any other photos because they were skittish.
On a side note we saw a ring-necked pheasant in Lynn County near New Moore
on Thursday March 22nd. I hadn't seen a pheasant in Lynn County probably
since the early 90's. We also saw a Swainson's Hawk near the t-bar golf
course also in Lynn County.
