UPDATE WITH DIRECTIONS:
Arrive at the security gate at Buffalo Springs Lake. Tell the attendant you
are participating in the Audubon Bird Walk on the Nature Trail. No entry fee
is required. Continue straight from the gate for approximately 3 miles.
Follow the road as it turns right and passes over the dam. Continue up the
hill to the Nature Trail parking lot on the right.
Expect uneven surfaces for this hike. Wear appropriate walking/hiking shoes
and clothing.
Bring water and binoculars (if you have them). Wearing a mask is encouraged.
If you need further directions to get to Buffalo Springs Lake, or have any
other questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
Hope to see you there!

We will hold a Bird Walk this coming Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Buffalo
Springs Lake at 8:30 am. We will meet in the parking lot for the LEAS Nature
Trail trailhead.
Entry to Buffalo Springs Lake will be complimentary for LEAS members on that
day.
Details pinpointing the parking lot location and how to enter the lake will
be provided later in the week with a reminder of the Bird Walk.
We will divide into two or more groups and varying levels off difficulty
will be offered (different areas of the trail). A fair amount of walking
will be required but access for all is possible.
Come out and see the LEAS Nature Trail if you never have before or if you
haven’t in a long while. It will be a fun morning.
We have hopes of future activity such as trail improvements, trash cleanup
and educational opportunities on the LEAS Nature Trail.
