Awesome report. Glad you were able to find some Cinnamon Teals. We live
near that spot. It sounds like it’s time for me to go check it out again.

voluminous rain becomes a temporary wetland. If you drive west on 19th
Street, take a right at Research Boulevard, and in about a half mile on
your left you'll see it. The road shoulder is small but sufficient, on
this lightly traveled road. Choose your spots.
Yesterday on a short visit I saw:
3 Black-Necked Stilts
7 Shovelers
1 Green Winged Teal
1 Gadwall
One pair of Blue-Winged Teal
and one pair (Yes!) of Cinnamon Teal.
Also, and this is really cool, I head lots of frogs. Or were they toads?
I heard them but didn't see them.
There's not a lot of reasons to be out in that area, but if you happen to
be, check it out. It's rather full, and we've had more rain. I think it
gets more interesting when the water subsides a bit.
