There’s a Blue Jay at Leftwich that does a good Mississippi Kite call, too. The
one at Clapp has been faking me out for at least a year now.

Hi All,
At Clapp Park this morning I heard a Mississippi Kite calling repeatedly near
the wildflower garden. After searching several minutes I spotted the culprit
, a Blue Jay. It was very persistent in its mimicking of a Mississippi Kite.
After Clapp, I went to McAlister Park and was rewarded with two Say’s
Phoebes, two Brewer Sparrows, two Burrowing Owls, and one Sage Thrasher. The
Sage Thrasher was in a small elm tree in the ravine near where the dirt road
passes over a culvert on the northeast side, close to the metal buildings.
