The only water we saw was in White Lake. The juncos and white-crowns were smart
enough to find a leaking camp faucet and hang out near that.
At least four kestrels, one probable merlin...only got sight of the tail as it
was retreating, many meadowlarks, a pair of brown thrashers, and a number of
white crowned sparrows and (slate morph) dark-eyed juncos.

visit Muleshoe NWR during our return to Lubbock.
We had multiple Horned Lark sitings about a half mile down the entrance road
and especially at the White Lake parking area.
