Hi everyone,
Several announcements here…
1) LEAS Member, Joe Cochran, will present “Birds of Clapp Park” this
Thursday, April 27th at Municipal Garden and Arts Center beginning at 7:00 pm
(doors open at 6:30 pm).
2) LEAS Bird Walk this Saturday, April 29th from 8:30 am - 11:30 am at the
V8 Ranch. This is a premier bird walk for our chapter, so try to attend.
Updated information will follow later this week.
3) Lubbock City Nature Challenge (iNaturalist platform) runs from Friday,
April 28th - Monday, May 1st. We will discuss this effort at the meeting on
Thursday evening for those with questions. Further, the V8 Ranch has given us
access until approximately 5:00 pm following the scheduled bird walk for those
interested in gathering observations for the City Nature Challenge.
4) We are doing outreach with Harwell Elementary tomorrow at Buffalo
Springs Lake from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm. Volunteers appreciated. Please reach out
to me if you’d like to participate. FOLLOW-UP, THIS EVENT ON TUESDAY WENT VERY
WELL. WE WILL DO IT AGAIN ON MAY 9TH. WE WILL AGAIN HAVE 180 CHILDREN. THE
FOCUS WILL BE BIRDS. PLEASE REACH OUT TO HELP!!!
