[leasbirds] Some Lubbock highlights from the week

Greetings All:
This has been a rough week for me with multiple visits to doctors and such but
I have made lemonade from lemons, to the fullest extent possible, by looking at
birds as I wandered about town.
On Monday (17 February 2014) I spent a little time at Whisperwood Pond and
noted the following highlights: 2 Snow Geese, 2 Wood Ducks, and 6 male
Canvasbacks. Canvasback had eluded me so far this year, in the LEAS region,
and they were well worth doubling back for.
On Tuesday (18 February 2014) I spotted a gorgeous male Blue-winged Teal in the
little pond next the the United at 19th and Quaker. I also had 1 Snow Goose at
Maxey Park, 7 Cedar Waxwings in the vicinity of Quaker and 16th, and 1
Orange-crowned Warbler in my front yard.
