Greetings All: I visited Higginbotham Park for a few minutes yesterday morning. Highlights were 2 Greater Yellowlegs at the playa and 1 Purple Martin flying into the neighborhood just to the north. I spent three hours working in my yard during yesterday afternoon, noting sixteen species of birds including a continuing male Black-chinned Hummingbird in what is left of my live oaks (this drought is horrible) and at my freshly cleaned feeders as well as 1 Swainson's Hawk flying high above (my fos). I have, in many recent years, had my first Western Kingbird of the year while working in my yard during the last weekend of March but no such luck (yet) this year. Perhaps they are waiting for the fruitless mulberry to leaf out or for me to get a little yard work done this afteroon. Hi ho, hi ho ... it's off to yardwork I go:) Anthony 'Fat Tony' Hewetson; Lubbock
