I traced them to a tree, where they're starting a nest. Fascinating. It's
just taking shape—it's the shadowy blob next to the bushtit in the photo.
It's not much of a photo, taken with an i-phone, and they were pretty annoyed
at me so I just snapped it and left. If it's privacy they want, they could
have picked a different tree instead of this one, right over a sidewalk full
of joggers and dog walkers. (And, this being LA, two persons who just walked
by, carrying their dogs.)
