Greetings All: I had a wonderful day out there and would like to thank a few people. First and foremost a big shout out to Ross Rickett! He woke me up at 6:05 AM and gently let me in on the fact that it was actually 7:05 AM and that we were supposed to be on the road five minutes ago (I am not a big fan of these savings time transitions and I think this dislike drives me, subconsciously, to miss as many as possible), drove us out to Muleshoe NWR and down to Cochran County, walked with me for many a mile, listened to all my b----ing about daylight savings time, and found some wonderful birds with me. He even let me have a morning stop for coffee despite the fact that we were, thanks to me, running an hour late:) A big thank you to Peter Keyel for finding a fantastic gull back in Lubbock, to Cameron Carver for keeping us in the loop - even when he had to break the sad news that the bird had left Guy Park, and to Steve Collins for tracking it to its new lair. As drought-stricken as our region is at this point, it takes a village to have a great day of birding ... and we've got a pretty good village up Lubbock way. Anthony 'Fat Tony' Hewetson; Lubbock
