What a crazy morning. We got to Plainview and only about 60 geese. No
Brant. We had seen some flying south and I hoped the Brant wasn’t a part
of them! It would be just my luck!
Then about 30 minutes later 15 plus waves of geese started flying in. It
was crazy awesome! There was a birder from Amarillo, Vickie. Together we
played “where is Waldo”!! Lol. She finally located it! What a cute goose!
Smaller than the Cacklers. A really beautiful species. Lifer for us both!
There was one snow goose with a hurt leg as well.
FYI: Stayed near the shore across from the park bench closest to the
gazebo. That’s where it stayed the whole time we were there.
