Greetings All:
Shrubhenge was named in the pre 2009-2013 drought era. The
shrubberies were much more magnificent then - and the set of five
semi-interlocking semi-circles of shrubberies, head height or higher,
was somewhat evocative of the Stonehenge experience.
During the drought one of the semi-circles was lost almost in its
entirety and two had significant die-off of shrubs. In the
post-drought era, the remaining shrubberies were no longer trimmed and
lost their shape. We are now left with a single bush, two loose
semi-circles with lots of gaps, and two somewhat linear blobs.
Shrubhenge, alas, has lost most of its shrubhengeness.
It still remains a draw for migrant songbirds and is a great spot for
resting goatsuckers.
