Greetings All: Starting in about 2002 we usually picked up our first in-town sightings of Western Kingbird during the last week of March (previous to that we usually did not record the species until the first or second week of April). Last year (2013) was the first year in at least a decade that our first in-town Western Kingbird did not get reported during late March. I am happy to report that 2014 will not go down that way. I spotted my first Western Kingbird for the season, near the intersection of Quaker Avenue and 16th Street, whilst driving to work this morning. Oh happy day, oh joyous day, oh supercalifragilisticexpialidocious day - the flight of the kingbird is seen again in our land! Anthony 'Fat Tony' Hewetson; Lubbock
