White-winged Doves in my yard range from very pale (almost to the
point where the white wing patch does not stand out) to very dark (I
call these chocolate doves).

any differences, granted they are faint and require lots of viewing together
for comparison. Having nothing else to look at, I spent time looking closely.
Has anyone else noticed these differences? Maybe it is just a change due to
the time of year (breeding)? Or is ts sex differences? Has anyone else
noticed this??
