Hello everyone!
What a great week it's been, birding-wise! So many great finds.
I'm only including one virtual experience this week. Since I've been teaching
online, I've had my fill of staring at a screen. I'm so happy we can go
outside (safely) and I'm so grateful for good books.
This week's link comes to us courtesy of my department chair, Dr. Mark Charney,
who used to teach at Clemson University. It's a celebration of books about
birds by Dr. Skip Eisiminger. It looks wonderful.
It makes me think of books I love about birding. So I thought I'd share five
favorites, and invite anybody who likes to share five of their own. It will
give us all a great reading list for the summer. There are no rules here.
Please share anything you like: field guides, poetry, non-fiction, novels.

April 30 (Thursday) 10:30am – 11:30am, Online Presentation: For the Birds with
Dr. Skip Eisiminger,Professor Emeritus of English: “For the Birds” is an
informal celebration and enticement to ornithology by a “bird reader.” While he
has no formal training in the study of birds,Skip does take most opportunities
to watch his feathered friends especially on “Nat. Geo.” as much as he dislikes
that abbreviation. Mostly, Dr, Eisiminger just reads about birds who continue
to amaze him. “For the Birds,” then, purports to be the crèmede la crème of his
“bird readings” and assiduous collecting habits over the last forty years. To
join the session/presentation click the following link up to 15 minutes prior
