I have seen a suspected pure Myrtle out east with a bit of yellow in the
throat, but I wondered if this bird might also have some Audubon's genes in
it (maybe a backcross) due to the white throat/chin patch not wrapping back
up around the neck a bit. I can't find any images of pure Myrtle with such
a reduced throat patch.

Also the black patch on the face is on a really large gray face/neck
mantle typical on the Audubon.

You know you are probably right. I just thought there wasn't much if any
port ocular stripe. But that's probably just the photo.

I think it looks good for a Myrtle in breeding plumage. I don’t see any
yellow on the throat and the markings all look good to me but I might be
missing what you guys are seeing. What makes you guys lean towards a
hybrid?

Can anyone confirm this Yellow-rumped Warbler from today is correctly
identified as Myrtle x Audubon’s.
Saw this bird at V8 today. I have more photos.
