Thank you, Lena, for providing these concise instructions. I have my listserv
emails set up this way. It is a game changer and allows me to peruse those
emails in one organized location at my leisure. I highly recommend.

All,
Here are some tips that may make managing our message flow easier,
especially during periods of heavy communications.
Following are instructions for automatically funneling LEAS listserv
messages into a folder from your email account's main website. I only have
gmail and hotmail instructions listed below, but you should be able to
figure this out for any email service.
GMAIL
Log into your email account.
On the left menu tab, at the very bottom, click "More," and scroll to the
very bottom.
Select "+ Create New Label" and enter a name for your new folder. (Mine is
"LEASbirds", for example). If you wish, you can nest it under another folder
of your choosing.
On the left menu tab again, click on the "Inbox" folder.
Check off the square beside one of the listserv messages.
You should see 3 vertical dots at the end of the list of headings on the top
menu tab. Click on the three dots and select "Filter messages like these."
It should autofill the filter criterion; click "Create filter"
Check off the squares beside "Skip the Inbox (Archive it)" and "Apply the
label" (choose your folder name from the dropdown menu), and "Also apply
filter to XX matching conversations." Lastly, select the "Create filter"
button.
Old and new messages will be routed to the new folder.
HOTMAIL
Log into your email account.
On the left menu tab, click on "New Folder" and enter a name (mine says
"LEASbirds", for example)
On the left menu tab, click on the "Inbox" folder.
Check off the circle beside one of the listserv messages.
You should see 3 horizontal dots (. . .) at the end of the list of items
on the top menu tab. Click on the three dots and select "Create rule."
A "Create rule" window will open with a note that says "Always move messages
from leasbirds-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx to this folder: " Click on the dropdown
menu and select the LEASbirds folder you created in step 2 above, then
select "OK."
Click "OK" again to apply the rule to existing email messages. All LEASbirds
messages should be automatically moved from your Inbox to the folder, and
all incoming messages should get funneled there as well.
Be aware that Hotmail has some flaws, and may send certain messages directly
to either "Junk Mail" or the "Deleted Items" folders. I haven't been able to
figure out why. It's frustrating.
You can still access the messages from a cell phone, but you'll have to go
digging for the folder to which you've routed them. Please reach out if you
need more direct or one-on-one assistance.
Finally, you can always subscribe or unsubscribe here, and the link is
always at the end of the Scissortail newsletters as well:

Thanks and happy birding!
Lena
PS. Thanks to Jennifer & Co. for helping me sort out gmail's filtering
system.
