Aethera is a PIM (personal information management) and PDR (personal data
repository) application which handles all types of personal information:
email, contacts, notes, tasks, todos and journals. Its communication features
include sending/receiving email, sending/receiving task requests and
appointment requests via email, and sending SMS messages using web gateways.
Aethera supports all the standard messaging protocols such as POP and IMAP
with full synchronization capability as well as support for multiple
identities.
The Groupware portion of Aethera can be as simple as sharing your personal
schedule to arrange meetings and discover scheduling conflicts. Aethera can
also be used to create discussion forums and knowledge bases within the
enterprise or across the Internet. Aethera also supports sophisticated work
flow management through a graphical interface that allows you describe the
flow of work through a process. A web interface is also available so that you
are never out of touch with your information.
The PDR portion of Aethera allows for new, and to our knowledge, completely
unique features for managing your personal information. Aethera will have a
component that will allow any enabled application to save it's information
into the Aethera virtual file system. This one step allows you, but does not
require you, to save any and all files into a single hierarchy that is easily
organized, indexed and searchable.
The companion piece to the PDR features is the Annotation Tool. This
component allows the user to add any personal notes to any piece of
information being saved. This permits associating personal notes with any
data stored in Aethera's VFS, from web-pages to emails.
All of Aethera will be fully scriptable for implementing filters and
automated tasks with our Python-based VeePee scripting environment.
Version Note: Third beta release. Improved speed dramatically. Added mail
filters. Implemented plugin framework. Fixed bugs.
